JANCA is a French-Colombian photographer and visual artist.

Her photography has a theatrical character.
JANCA imagines, constructs, composes and directs each scene.

Her creative process begins with a social situation she questions and with the search for an original way to address it. This leads to research, whose findings are transformed into a visual construction.

JANCA is the author and composer of her visual creations.

Her work unfolds through two visual universes. In her staged portrait creations — La Bella y la Bestia, Machos, historias de Nenas and Silencios / Silences — she develops a ROCOCO language, characterized by the richness and multiplicity of visual elements.

In Visiones, Gotas de Sueño and Cubo por la Paz, she develops a MINIMALIST language.

In the first two, the nude body, isolated against black backgrounds, becomes form, line, volume, light and movement, reaching an almost abstract dimension.

In Cubo por la Paz, a geometric structure measuring 6 meters on each side and 3.5 meters high, composed of 600 white balloons, creates a spatial experience based on reflection, introspection, calm, simplicity and repetition.

Two different visual languages, ROCOCO and MINIMALIST, one same way of creating: researching, imagining, constructing and directing.
